Hemfrid
WINNER OF THE 2013 GOLDEN GAVEL – PRIVATE COMPANIES
The jury’s announcement
As a passionate entrepreneur, Monica Lindstedt has turned the company she created, Hemfrid, into a successful business that is approaching half a billion Swedish kronor in revenues and has around a thousand employees. With her energy and patience, she has made a crucial contribution to the creation of fertile conditions for the origins and strong growth of an entire sector.
Ten years ago, Monica swapped the role of CEO to that of Chair of the Board. Gradually, she has found methods and processes that work. Today, the Board works as an independent decision-making body with a clear separation between the roles of chair and principal owner. Monica hardly conforms to the classic textbook ideal of the chair of a board. It would be more correct to describe her as an entrepreneurial chair. With her entrepreneurial drive and visionary drive, she constantly tests her board and pushes it to take on new challenges. At the same time, she is a listener and a reflective person who is perceived as easy and inspiring to work with.
Monica Lindstedt has shown how successful entrepreneurs can also continue to play an active and constructive role in their company’s development in the role of chair of the board.
