Bob Persson is a doyen and central figure in the corporate life of his local region, Jämtland. As CEO for many years and as Chair of the Board since 2009, he has played a crucial role in the impressive growth of the family firm Persson Invest, a development marked by a number of successful strategic choices.
The board of Persson Invest has a clearly defined role as an independent decision making body, and its work is performed systematically and professionally. Bob Persson leads this work knowledgeably and efficiently, but also with the great sensitivity, warmth and genuine interest in people that characterise him as a person. Today, Persson Invest is a family-owned company with its head office in Östersund. The Group has annual sales of approximately four billion kronor and has approximately 1,000 employees. The company trades in cars, lorries and buses, as well as planing, 1) forestry and property management. The Group has operations in several cities, as well as six subsidiaries of Persson Norge AS. Over a period of many years, Persson Invest has gradually acquired and expanded its forest holdings, but also sold some of its assets. The Group’s total forest holdings are currently in excess of 100 000 hectares. Since its motor vehicle products cause direct emissions and its wood industries and buildings consume electricity and heating energy, Persson Invest has chosen to invest in planning for renewable energy.
All proposed activities are now subject to an assessment of their environmental impacts. Site managers are responsible for environmental issues within each company except one, which has a specific environmental manager, and all companies in the Group have adopted an environmental policy. The corporate culture and values of AB Persson Invest are based on customer focus, solution orientation, flexibility, safety, cost awareness, long term focus, a positive view of humanity and equality of opportunity.
